Husband and wife team and Royal Shakespeare Company players Dame Judi Dench and Michael Williams star in this BAFTA award-winning ITV series from the early 1980s. She plays Laura, who is thirty-seven and unmarried. He plays Mike, also single. Laura's sister, Helen, (Susan Penhaligon) is keen to see Laura 'married off' and introduces her to Mike at a party. The relationship is awkward but they pretend they are getting along well to keep Helen happy...
Breaking-up and making-up has been a theme for Mike and Laura's relationship - and when Laura spies a girl in Mike's flat wearing nothing but a bath towel, she fears the relationship is over. But Mike has other ideas...
A Fine Romance was always in the ITV Top Ten and was the recipient of two BAFTA accolades - Best Actress (1982) and Best Light Entertainment Performance (1985). This series has never previously been available on DVD or VHS.
