Welcome back to the quiet town of Nouvion in occupied France, home to crafty cafe owner Rene Artois, his wife Edith, her mother-in-law Fanny, her suitor Leclerc, a bevy of beautiful waitresses, a couple of English airmen, a multi-lingual Gendarme, an ever-present resistance agent, and a whole host of German soldiers and Gestapo officers. Add to them every conceivable and hilarious plot, sub-plot and sub-sub-plot to subvert the occupation, and you have a pretty good idea of life at Cafe Rene. In this side-splitting series, we find gold hidden in a cuckoo clock, paintings hidden in packets of spaghetti and bombs hidden in Christmas puddings. So where better to find a microfilm of the forthcoming invasion plans than hidden in a long-distance duck? It it could only happen here....
