The magical story of Carrie Willow and her brother Nick's adventures during the Second World War. Fleeing the German bombing of London they enter a world of curses, witches and druids, a world where nothing is ever quite what it seems.
Carrie and Nick are evacuated to a small Welsh town to life with the strict Mr Evans and his sister Auntie Lou. They soon settle in and meet all of the characters who live nearby including Hepzibah Green, Mr Johnny and the wonderfully extravagant Mrs Gotobed. But Carrie does the most dreadful thing she can think of....
