City Of God:
Welcome to the world's most notorious slum: Rio de Janeiro's 'City of God'. A place where combat photographers fear to tread, where police rarely go, and residents are lucky if they live to the age of 20. This is the true story of a young man who grew up on these streets and whose ambition as a photographer is our window in and ultimately may be his only way out.
City Of Men:
Two friends who grew up together in a fovela in Rio de Janeiro turn 18 and face the first difficulties of adulthood. Acerola (Douglas Silva) has a two-year-old son to raise. Used to his freedom, he feels tied down by marriage and laments his precocious fatherhood. For Laranjinha (Darlan Cunha), the problem isn't being a father, but not having one. With his mind set on finding his, he begins rummaging through the past. While the duo tries to solve their problems, a gang war shakes the dangerous world of drug trafficking around them. The head drug lord in their community, Madrugadao (Jonathan Haagensen), Laranjinha's cousin, lose his supremacy to his ex-right-hand-man, Nefasto (Eduardo BR). In the confusion, the two friends are going to have to run for their lives and in the process discover a truth so terrible it threatens to break up their friendship.
