Jean - Luc, a highly successful doctor, thinks that he has forgotten his father, who left long ago and who has been in touch so rarely... It's as if memory - or resentment were a waste of time. But all of a sudden, Maurice reappears. He displays no remorse, and without any apparent misgivings, he tries to re-enter his childrens lives.
He views Jean - Luc's life and world with a detachment that verges on cruelty. As the situation worsens, Jean-Luc begins to question what right his father has to judge his affluent style. In the face of this father who charms, disgusts and rejects him, Jean Luc can no longer avoid confronting his own past.
