This is the story of one of America's most notorious Public Enemies, John Dillinger. The film charts his rise from petty criminal to the cold, humourless psychopath he became. Lawrence Tierney (Reservoir Dogs) makes an impressive screen debut in this tightly directed film noir. Dimitri Tiomkin provides a great atmospheric musical score. Nominated for an Oscar for best screenplay.
