Marco Ferreri's Outrageous film chronicles the bizarre and ultimately fatal gastronomic weekend undertaken by four middle aged friends who retreat to an old country house for a huge 'blow out'.
The four of them, one of whom is conveniently a master chef, plan their feasts with military precison.
To make things move along more smoothly, besides the copious amounts of alcohol they hire some local prostitutes who eagerly enter into the spirit, as well as inviting a local female teacher to join in their debauchery, much to her obvious delight.
Over the weekend the over-indulgence begins to take its toll on the four men wo doggedly continue on their menu to oblivion despite the onset of extreme flatulence, resulting in bizarrely fatal consequences.
Ferreri deservedly won the 1973 Cannes Film Festival Fipresci award for this hilarious and unhealthily irreverent dig at the bourgeoisie.
Eat before you watch, because you won't want to afterwards. Bon appetit!
