Created and written by Johnnie Mortimer and Brian Cooke (George And Mildred, Robin's Nest), Man About The House was a phenomenally successful comedy for ITV1, running for six series in total, spinning off two further series and making household names of its stars Richard O'Sullivan, Paula Wilcox and Sally Thomsett.
Cuckoo in the Nest:
It's bad enough sharing with one man, but when Larry, Robin's friend, moves in and looks like staying, the problems become worse. And Mr and Mrs Roper, the landlord and landlady, are having their own problems...
Come Into My Parlour:
Robin has already taken his new girlfriend out to the cinema and the discotheque; tonight, with a bit of luck, it's Bingo. He's got the flat to himself and she's coming round. But Chrissy was the girl's milk monitor and still feels responsible for her.
I Won't Dance, Don't Ask Me:
Chrissy's firm is holding their once-a-year staff dance and who better to take her than Robin? But Robin can't dance...not the quick-quick-Slow stuff, anyway. Fortunately, Mrs Roper is more than willing to teach him...
Of Mice and Women:
One mouse roaming about three flats causes quite a lot of panic...but Robin turns it to his advantage. He finally manages to spend the night in Chrissy's bedroom, ostensibly to protect her from the pitter-patter of feet on the lino...
Somebody Out There Likes Me:
Chrissy discovers that she has an unknown admirer. Mrs Roper takes him over and Mr Roper feels the first pangs of jealousy. Then Robin discovers who it is...
We Shall Not Be Moved:
Mrs Roper has to go away for a week and Roper's plans for converting the house into smaller 'dwelling units' can get under way. The fact that Robin, Chrissy and Jo have a three year lease is a minor problem to a man of his cunning...
Three of a Kind:
A poker session is taken over by Chrissy when Robin has to go into hospital to have his tonsils removed.
