Last year, four restaurants; The Glass House, Walnut Tree Inn, Moore Place and Bonapartes called in controversial troubleshooter Gordon Ramsay to identify and solve the problems of their failing businesses.
The Glass House:
The first visit to this Ambleside restaurant was a disaster. A few months later there have been some departures. Who is in charge now, and is Ramsay's Caesar salad still on the menu?
Walnut Tree Inn:
This restaurant was in dire straits - no chef, dwindling customers and an owner who had to sell his family home to keep the business afloat. Ramsay recruited a new Head Chef, allowing the owner to concentrate on the customers. But has he followed Gordon's advice?
Moore Place:
Nick and Richard were virgins to the restaurant business, believing that with their brewery backgrounds they would be instantly successful. Has Ramsay's fast-track guide to restaurant success helped these whizz-kids - and is Moore Place still painted that vile shade of purple?
Bonapartes:
Tim Gray was the 21-year-old Head Chef at Bonapartes whose signature dish, scallops, made Gordon vomit. After establishing what the local people actually wanted to eat Ramsay soon had the restaurant filled to capacity. But what happened when he left?
