San Francisco 1969- adult filmmakers Artie and Jim Mitchell open a cinema to enable them to make and show their own movies. The cinema becomes an overnight success and attracts plenty of attention particularly from the police, which leads to a series of raids and arrests. The two brothers succumb to the easy availability of drugs and sex and their relationship becomes marred by greed, abuse and dark obsession. Spiraling out of control, the brothers relationship leads to violence and ultimately murder.
