American truck driver Pat Quid (Stacey Keach), is making his way across Australia's outback for a delivery. He becomes convinced that the drive of a suspicious green van is a serial killer wanted by the cops. After sharing his theory with Pamela (Jamie Lee Curtis) a hitch-hiker he picks up, she decides to investigate the green van at a service station. But when Pamela disappears, Pat becomes the police's prime suspect.
From cult Australian director Richard Franklin, Roadgames is a pulse-racing Hitchcockian thriller. Packed with bristling black humour, the film features an excellent central performance from Stacey Keach as the free-wheeling truck-driver who suddenly finds himself trapped in a nightmare. With striking photography of the Australian outback and tension by the bucket-load, Roadgames keeps the audience on the edge of its seat until the very end. Essential viewing.
