In this hilarious family classic Hope plays Sidney Melbourne (The Lemon Drop Kid) a small time race track con man who offers a 'sure thing' tip to a mobsters girlfriend; the horse loses and Sidney is given until after Christmas to re pay the $10,000. At his wits end Sidney comes up with a cunning scheme, he enlists some pals to dress a Santa Claus and hit the street corners of New York to collect money for a fake elderly ladies home. As the money pours in the mobster tries to muscle in on Sidney's scam, what follows is classic comedy entertainment from the best in the business.
