Roy Marsden stars as Neil Burnside, Director of The Sandbaggers - a small, elite department of the British Secret Service, whose job is to take on all the 'dirty tricks' and underhanded business that other Government departments won't touch.
Led by the brash, conscientious Willie Caine (Ray Lonnen), their work is often dangerous, sometimes mundane, but always delicate and interwoven with the gritty realities of today's geopolitical strategies. But Burnside's power struggles with his superiors are just as bloody as anything his men face in the field. It is not for nothing that the New York Times recently called this series "the best spy series in television history".
