The Twilight Zone, the groundbreaking creation of screenwriter Rod Serling, gained instant legendary status in the 1950s and its popularity and influence endure worldwide. In 1994, Serling’s widow Carol discovered an unfilmed screenplay, entitled Where The Dead Are; along with another short story entitled The Theater, the ‘lost’ work was subsequently adapted for television by Richard Matheson. A celebrated science-fiction author in his own right (perhaps best known for his novel I Am Legend, on which the 2007 blockbuster was based), Matheson had worked closely with Serling on the original series.

Rod Serling’s Lost Classics comprises both Where The Dead Are and The Theater, stylish adaptations that remain true to Serling’s original vision for The Twilight Zone: a thought-provoking blend of disconcerting mystery interwoven with a powerful and timely moral allegory.

The Theater- A young couple see their own lives played out on a cinema screen. Can they escape their own seemingly inevitable fates?
Starring Amy Irving and Gary Cole

Where The Dead Are- In the aftermath of the Civil War, a brilliant young surgeon is determined to do battle with death. But his research reveals a macabre reality.
