A stylish new twist on the infamous French classic Les Liaisons Dangereuses, UNTOLD SCANDAL transposes the story from aristocratic 18th century France to aristocratic 18th century Korea. Lady Cho (Lee Mi-soo: An Affair), the vengeful wife of an important official, sets a challenge for her sexually predatory cousin, Sir Cho-wan (Bae Yong-jun: Winter Sonata): she wants him to seduce the young woman who is to become her husband's concubine. If he succeeds, Lady Cho will offer herself up as the prize; and if he fails, he must live his life out as a monk.
But the bet becomes more interesting when Cho-wan raises the stakes by adding Lady Sook (Jeon Do-yeon), the most notoriously virtuous widow in the land, to his list of conquests. With this, the scene is set for scandalous games and seduction veiled behind careful customs and traditions of the day.
UNTOLD SCANDAL more than lives up to its claims of being the naughtiest period drama ever, weaving a tale of uncontrollable love and passion among the nobility during the restrictive Chosun dynasty.
