During the war, the Pevensie children, Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy - are evacuated to the country manor of an old Professor. Exploring the house, they come across an old wardrobe, through which they enter the magical land of Narnia. There an evil witch rules over the fawns, beavers and mystical creatures of the kingdom, with a spell that ensures it is always winter but never Christmas.
Fearful that the children are the ones spoken of in an ancient prophecy foreseeing the end of her reign, the Witch tricks Edmund into betraying his siblings, leaving only Aslan the Lion able to restore Springtime to Narnia.
