An extraordinary success for ITV (five series and a sequel), Strangers was a tough, quirky police series that was certainly a breed apart from the other cop shows of the eighties. Written by celebrated author and scriptwriter Murray Smith (Dempsey and Makepeace), Strangers features Don Henderson (Star Wars, The Paradise Club) as the idiosyncratic D.S. Bulman (created in The XYY Man) who was never to be seen without his trademark string gloves, Vicks inhaler and plastic bag. This is the first time that this complete fourth series has been released in any format.
Disc One:

The Moscow Subway Murders
Bulman, now promoted to Detective Chief Inspector, becomes involved in a series of murders starting on the Moscow Underground and culminating in London.

The Loneliness of the Long Distance Copper
A convict makes a daring prison break but leaves a trail to ensure his recapture is handled only by the Inter-City Squad. He has an old score to settle with Lambie, the squad's supervisor.

A Dear Green Place
A routine assignment - escorting a prisoner from Glasgow to London - turns into something altogether different when the man escapes and leads his escorts on a merry cross-country chase.

Disc Two:

Stand and Deliver
The squad investigates a series of armed robberies committed by a gang of modern day highwaymen.

The Flowers of Edinburgh
Bulman and Willis arrest a man carrying an incriminating roll of film. This triggers off an enquiry which takes them to Edinburgh and a gang specialising in political blackmail.

Soldiers of Misfortune
Bulman's squad investigates a murder and a series of knee-cappings committed by rival groups of mercenaries.
